The Hardcore Dickens Club decided they would be a leetle less hardcore. I am relieved, I have to say; I thought I was pretty far out there in terms of Dickens enthusiasm, but their initial reading schedule made me blanch. This is why I'm wrapping up Nicholas Nickleby just as they're starting it -- they decided to slow down and take a bit of a break between the end of Oliver Twist and the start of Nicholas Nickleby. I'm looking forward to reading their commentary on it now that they've begun. There's lots of good info in the intro post, and even more in this supplement (spoilers ahoy, though, at that second link).
I'm closing in on the end of our Ninth Annual May Dickens Read-ALong here, my friends.
WHAT will become of Madeline Bray, who is currently lying unconscious in the coach that is whisking her away from her father's home?

WHY does Kate keep blushing and sighing?
WILL Ralph Nickleby get his comeuppance?
Who knew 800-page Victorian novels were so suspenseful?
