oooh, you're going up for tenure this year! Sigh... I remember when you started your PhD. WOW.

I don't want to think at all about the fact that this year is the 10th anniversary of my own doctorate and this is a sad sad thing because I haven't done anything of significance with it. Sigh...

you have so many resolutions! And I'm confident that you'll keep most if not all of them!

Okay, I have an earnest question that I worry will sound snarky but IS NOT: how do you survive emotionally/psychologically having so many goals? I feel overwhelmed and a little anxious just *reading this post.* The idea of having aspirations for signing self-improvement in every area of my life just seems impossible. Is this just a personality/temperament thing? A seasons of life thing? Hmm.

Send me deets about the half and the 10k. I might want to join you. I told Kevin that I'd like to visit you and thought throwing a race in there could be a good excuse to do so.

What do you think?

Believe it or not, I've read Dance to the Music of Time through at least twice. There's a nifty book by Hilary Spurling called Companion to the Dance (I think) that is just an index of all the characters, places, and themes, so you can look up to see when Ada Leintwardine or Uncle Giles or St. John Clark last showed up in the narrative. Brendan has listened to the audio book multiple times, so that's also a good resource for getting through it.
