I've been away from the news almost entirely today, traveling from Gladlyville to Philadelphia for a conference. I've been so focused on the headlines since the election that it feels a little strange to think of posting about my delicious dinner. (Those of you who are on the right or apolitical are probably like "Please talk about your dinner. Please before I unsubscribe.") So: delicious dinner, fun city and some time to explore between sessions, chance to see pals from other parts of the country. And no laundry until Monday. I'm looking forward to it.

Welcome to my blog, where I mostly natter on about my life with five kids. Occasionally (not very often, because teenagers keep a person humble) I dispense parenting advice.
