Guilty as charged

I dropped my oldest son off at a friend's house this afternoon. "You don't need me to give you that speech about being an especially good guest since it's your first time visiting, right?"

"No," he said nicely but firmly. "I have heard that speech many times in my short and speech-filled life."

I have been cracking up all afternoon about his "short and speech-filled life." That boy knows exactly how to make his mother laugh.
