I've been thinking about doing this for the past several Thursdays, but I always felt like I should be working on my big project instead of blogging about smaller ones. No longer!
- I have finished the first round of coding! Finished, after a six-week slog!
- The long-distance TA thing is going fine -- yesterday I graded their second assignment much more quickly and with much less angst than I did the first one. I was up until 1:00 this morning, but that's okay. Pete has preschool this morning and I'm going to take a nap with the baby.
- Earlier this week I asked my kids to do this silly Facebook meme where they answered questions about me. One of them was "What is your mom's work?" They were all a little stumped. Not one of them, not even the 12yo, said "She's getting her PhD." I worry a little that my choice to do this is pulling me away from them too much, but it doesn't even seem to be on their radar.
Baptism is this weekend and I am hoping to welcome guests to a cleaner house than the one I am currently sitting in, but I'm not terribly worried about it. We have food for them to eat and we will welcome them warmly. And it is perhaps a little Sisyphean to invite a few dozen small children into your home and clean enthusiastically before they arrive.
Lots of other small successes here.
