FLUKE!!!!!! FLUKE!!!!

Have you ever read "Toad Food and Measle Soup"?? I'm betting your boys would LOVE it.

Saints Timothy and Wolfgang. I don't know why Timothy got the stomach but after Wolfgang's death, there were reports of healings in Regensburg, many of which involved stomach complaints.

My kids laugh and laugh whenever they think about Blaise, patron saint of throats. They think that's The Funniest Thing Ever.

I'm trying to be sympathetic (fluke! fluke! fluke!) and run away as quickly as possible at the same time. Nobody, but NOBODY, better get sick here right now! (please! - and I pray you all stay/get well!)

Oh, I bet it's Timothy because of the "take a little wine for your stomach" advice from St. Paul. We had a quiet night; here's hoping all stays quiet on the stomach front.

Fluke! I'll say this--Maggie and Paul were beset by some horrible stomach bug eary this summer, when I was newly pregnant and could. not. deal., and I somehow was spared. I'll just trust that God looks out for busy mothers....

My daughter used to call it toe food too (or was it tow food?). Now she probably doesn't eat it. I can't keep track of what she does and doesn't eat from day to day.

I'd heard that Saints Timothy and Titus were the dudes to call on for help with stomach woes. They hear from me often.

I didn't run away fast enough. Mac is sick. Same type of thing. Ugh for us too!

fluke!! i'm still praying that my little one avoids this heinous cold thing i seem to have acquired. it's awful, will be twice as bad if she catches it!

Your situation reminds me of a book called "Seven Silly Eaters". Too funny. I think you'd like it, as would your boys, when they aren't reading Faust, or something like that. ;)

Anyway, here's my Tofu Fish Sticks recipe that I got from The Vegan Lunchbox (www.veganlunchbox.blogspot.com). She's coming out with a new, fancy-pants version of the cookbook soon.

Tofu Fish Sticks

1 lb package firm tofu, drained
2/3 cup fine cornmeal (or all-purpose flour)
2/3 cup sliced almonds
2 t. paprika
2 t kelp granuels (which I never have, but I'm sure are very good)
2 t salt
1/2 t onion powder
1/2 t garlic powder
1/4 t dill weed
pepper, to taste
2/3 cup plain, unsweetened soymilk (I use plain, unsweetened cow milk)
1 lemon (or just some lemon juice from the bottle, eh!)
oilve oil

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet w/ parchment paper and spray with oil.

Put cornmeal, almonds, spices in blender or food processer and blend until you get a coarse meal with a few larger pieces of almond remaining. Pour mixture into a wide dish or plate.

Put the milk in a bowl and set next to cornmeal mixture.

Cut tofu into slices under 1/2 inch wide. Dip tofu in milk, then roll in cornmeal. Place on prepared baking sheet. When you've finished, sprinkle with olive oil.

Bake for 15 min, turn the tofu and bake for 15 min more, or until crispy. Squeeze some lemon juice evenly over tofu and serve.

yours was a fluke, and apparently I was too quick to blame internet bugs ;-). mac has a sinus infection and is now on antibiotics! i'm just happy that we're not doing a pass-the-bug-around thing! hope you're all well too!
