My husband often listens to Midnight Special online in the evenings after the smaller kids are in bed. (He does this while playing online bridge, which I think pushes him perilously close to "too geeky to live" territory.) Today Alex and I were in the car when Garrison Keillor started singing about his old piano. "Hey," said Alex, "is this the start of Midnight Special?" He corrected himself -- "Oh, no, this is Prairie Home Companion."
As the geeky twig is bent...
He'll probably complain bitterly in high school about the radio programming around here. Until then, I'll keep getting a chuckle out of his standard request for ketchup: "Please pass the natural mellowing agents."
